was born and educated in Ghent, earning her degree in construction engineering with a fascination for bridges—true works of art for her. After early project management experience at Van Laere, she completed a part-time MBA at Vlerick and joined McKinsey, where she spent nearly a decade advising steel and cement industries across Europe, Thailand, and Qatar.Following a year in Belgian real estate, Kathleen pursued her entrepreneurial passion: in 2010, she acquired Château de Minière, followed by Château de Suronde in 2016.She revitalized both estates—vineyards, cellars, buildings, and branding—and developed oenotourism and artist residencies, making them regional benchmarks.
A lifelong learner, in 2025, Kathleen achieved the prestigious Master of Wine title—a globally recognized distinction awarded to only a few hundred experts after exceptionally rigorous exams. She is the only female Master of Wine in the Benelux region, making her achievement especially remarkable.Combining a love of wine (from her father), art (from her mother), and entrepreneurship (from her family), she connects people through memorable wine experiences.
Inspiration is a keyword for our communication acency, Serviceplan. We want to regularly create opportunities that inspire new ways of thinking with brand-new perspectives, instead of allowing ourselves to get stuck in a rut. Our response to this is 'unMISSable' a series of intellectually stimulating and inspiring meetings in small groups and of the highest quality. Surprising and sometimes controversial speakers from different fields and professions beyond our marketing-driven everyday lives are invited to provide us - a female managerial elite in the field of marketing and sales - with food for thought, as well as valuable stimuli and networking opportunities with people, topics and ideas that inspire us.
